This is maybe one of the most dearest posts I have written in my almost two years of blogging. Maybe my most important pictures I have taken yet as well. Words really can’t express how I feel about this baby. Or about how I believe that life is such a miracle.
Many of you know my niece Jayda was born when my baby sister Ashley was only 26 weeks along with her pregnancy. Ash and her adoring husband Chase have been through something that I cannot imagine myself being strong enough to endure. They have lived at the hospital for almost 2 months now. They wake up, Chase goes to work and visits any moment he can and Ash pretty much lives there. Jayda was born weighing only 1 lb. 9 oz and has been fighting ever since.
I was able to visit them almost a month ago to take these pictures. I went there the first day I got to So. Utah and was able to visit our little miracle. To be honest she really takes your breath away when you first meet her. I was in total shock that a human being could survive being that small. Her body looked so frail, yet I could tell her spirit was so strong. She was beyond beautiful. She was beyond special. She was a gift sent straight from God. Showing us all that He does exist. We spent hours there just staring. Loving her every movement. Breathing in her every breath.
The second night was pure magic. I was able to be there for some amazing firsts. Her first bath, her first kiss from mommy and daddy. Her first time being held in her daddy’s hands. I couldn’t believe this was all on the night that I was there and that I had my camera ready. Again another amazing miracle in itself.
My sister and I have always been close. We of course have had our sister fights and arguments, but for the most part she means the world to me
But watching her adore her sweet little angel gave me a whole new love for her. I respect this woman more than anyone. She shows what the meaning of mother truly is. I look at some of the images on this video and cry. The way she lovingly looks at Jayda. Only the love a mother could have for her baby. Then I am beyond joyful that she found herself such a wonderful husband. Chase is the most proud and loving dad. Jayda truly is lucky!
So here is her story….so far. A story of strength and courage. A story of love and inspiration. She will make you want to be a better person.

Jayda is now doing so well. She is over 3 lbs. now. I can’t believe it! She will be in Salt Lake next week to have her surgery on her blocked intestines. She has defied all odds and as we all thought is truly a fighter.
