this is us.

Welcome to what I like to call my second home. It's where I like to be when my kids give me a few seconds to share what I love most- them.

I started my photography journey a little over two years ago just wanting to take better pictures of my kids. I fell in love and quickly jumped into my own business. I took pictures of a lot of other peoples kids, but was often too tired to capture the memories of my own. I have come full circle and am back to shooting the ones I love.

Right now my main focus is perfecting my art. While I have decided not to be in business at this time, I would love for this to be a place of inspiration and beauty. Somewhere I can share myself in my work. As photographer Nan Goldin once said, "This is a diary I let people read." I have many different projects in mind and can't wait to see them come to life.

I am an artist who loves to share the beauty of a smile, a connection and a laugh. I have a story to tell and a journey I would love to share with you.

Meet my new friend – be ART

Her name is Jessica and she is awesome! About a month or so when I put out a casting call for models, her sister sent me an email in secret telling me that Jessica would totally do this. We finally got together for our shoot and we hit it off right away. She doubted herself through our emails, but once I met Jessica, I knew she would be great. I knew that she would be fun and honest in her photos.

She is beautiful. She is kind. She was fun and we laughed…hard. She has such a wonderful smile. I found myself many times smiling behind my camera just looking at her smile. It’s infectious. Even editing I found myself smiling again. Jessica is a hard working mother to two little boys and she has this amazing talent….seriously check her out HERE. Told ya. LOVE it!

I loved having the amazing chance to photograph Jessica. She showed me many things. She showed me the beauty of a young mother. She showed me the effect a smile can have. She showed me what a talented and sincerely wonderful person looks like. She showed me that I LOVE photographing and showing off strong yet warm and beautiful women. Thanks Jessica! I had a blast.

…these are probably nothing great. They are not award winning. They are far from perfect. But to me, their mother, they are…they are truly something special. They show two sisters who are deeply in love with each other. They show a relationship of two sisters who like to laugh, and tickle and give big slobbery sister kisses. To me, they show a big sister who is protective of her little one. To me, they show two sisters who’s lives are about to change in a few short weeks when their baby brother arrives. To me, they are love. They are best friends. They are my sweet little girls.

but that’s a good thing, right?

One of the greatest things to me about living where I do in Utah, is the abundance of amazing locations we photogs have to shoot at. You have an awesome fun location, throw in two crazy beautiful, sweet girls and it is just pretty much the best day ever. We had a blast. My friend Chauntelle (who is a talented photog herself) called me up from my old stomping grounds in Vegas and told me to get ready because her, her sister and friends were coming up and we were going to have a day of FUN! I was beyond excited, for sure! I -as usual- acted like a big fat nerd, and we got some great shots. Thanks girls for such a great time!

Ashley is Chauntelle’s sister and is one of my most photographed subjects. I love Ash. She is beyond beautiful and so sincerely sweet. Her eyes! I can never get over her gorgeous eyes! This little lady is perfection.

And then their is Miss Kristen…who has THE.BEST.SMILE.EVER! Don’t you agree? She was so fun to photograph and was so lovely. Her hair is pretty much to die for and her perfect, vibrant, teenage skin made me quite ~~jealous~~ errr very happy for her

One More… – be ART

…I promise Missy, JUST.ONE.MORE. That’s what I kept promising my pretty sister-in-law, but I lied!!! I had to keep shooting. Almost till’ the sun went down. How could I not? She is so beautiful and cool and takes really pretty pictures She was more than patient with me while I played with my lighting on her. And big thanks to my hubby who took my abuse for about an hour. He was my light mover-equipment carrier-babysitter-comedian-hot eye candy (okay that last part was just for me) Besides all the scratches from the grass and bug bites…we really did have fun. Here are some of the shots that we got….I just love her fun, funky style.
