this is us.

Welcome to what I like to call my second home. It's where I like to be when my kids give me a few seconds to share what I love most- them.

I started my photography journey a little over two years ago just wanting to take better pictures of my kids. I fell in love and quickly jumped into my own business. I took pictures of a lot of other peoples kids, but was often too tired to capture the memories of my own. I have come full circle and am back to shooting the ones I love.

Right now my main focus is perfecting my art. While I have decided not to be in business at this time, I would love for this to be a place of inspiration and beauty. Somewhere I can share myself in my work. As photographer Nan Goldin once said, "This is a diary I let people read." I have many different projects in mind and can't wait to see them come to life.

I am an artist who loves to share the beauty of a smile, a connection and a laugh. I have a story to tell and a journey I would love to share with you.

While in Vegas, I wanted to get a shoot together. One with beautiful light. One with beautiful models and one with beautiful friends.

Brooke, Jeanna, Amy, Kristin, Allyson, Heather and Erin joined me for a few hours of bliss. Each brought models, props and oodles of talent.

Plus I just shot some AMAZING seniors on Saturday and got some of my favorite images EVER…that’s right EVER!!!

I am trying you guys…I really am. But yes, it is a struggle to pick up that camera everyday when all I want is to have this baby! I am so ready. Only three weeks to go. And whenever I think of that…the song “It’s the Final Countdown” jumps into my head and I start singing it loud and dancing and it makes it all better

I did have the wonderful opportunity to take some fun family shots of Megan Lee and her cute little family. She will be shooting my birth photography and really, I can’t wait for that. My poor girls. Their birth photographer was my husband. And his idea of birth photography was taking the camera and getting tons of shots of their first bowel movement. Ya know, the tar kind. Ummm yeah. So needless to say little Sawyer will have some really great images of his entrance into this world. And of course I will be sharing it all after it happens, but for now here is a taste of the pure sweetness Megan captures…see it HERE.

This little guy is the sweetest ten month old. ever. true story! He smiled and played and was in the best mood ALL DAY! His mom is my dear friend and sister to the beautiful bride below. He hung in there while we did engagements, and then shopped, lunch at Red Robin (not hard to endure.mmmm) then bridals and then finally it was his turn. Yep. He was still happy. Love him! Love his smile, love his big brown eyes…love it all! Thanks Laird for being quite the trooper..all day!

Lovely Visitors – Utah Photographer

Since moving to Utah we have certainly missed seeing our family and friends. The Shaffer’s are people who we Earl’s absolutely LOVE. They were up here in beautiful Utah and well of course we had to see them…which meant of course we needed some pictures. PLUS I hadn’t even met baby Eden yet. I got some that I really love and hope they do too! Just a few….
